Breast cancer and hair loss (BCC 54)
Many people with breast cancer will lose their hair as a result of their treatment. Some find this a particularly distressing experience.
This booklet explains how hair loss happens and the effect it may have on you. It discusses wigs, scarves and other headwear.
It has practical hints and tips on caring for your hair and scalp during and after treatment, different ways of tying scarves and using cosmetics to replace eyebrows and eyelashes.
It also lists where you can attend a free appointment, where you can talk through your concerns, try on hats, scarves and hairpieces, and learn scarf-tying techniques.
